A Message from the 2026-2028 Association President
Hello Lake Association members,
This is Jim Wallen, your newly elected Association president. I thought I would put out a short note for those of you that don’t know me and reintroduce myself to those that do.
I have been with the Lake Association since the very beginning. I drafted our original bylaws, was our corporation’s registered agent, served on the Board of Directors and coordinated our first 3 lake planning grants. I have worked with various groups within our organization on just about every project we have taken on. The best part of those experiences was all the amazing friendships that I have made. Something about freezing your hands off putting in an aerator fence, or standing neck deep in water fixing the boat landing, or even pulling a float in the parade have been the best part of being a member of this organization.
There are so many talented people in our group that have made the Association what it is today. As I was reviewing the membership roster I saw very few names that I didn’t recognize. So many of you have already contributed in the past and hopefully will continue doing so in the future. I believe we are a community gem for the greater Long Lake area. We should all be proud when we see the beautiful beach, hiking trail, the public fishing pier or the many other things that make Long Lake special.
In closing I’d like to say – don’t be afraid to volunteer or get involved. What you get out of the experience will be way more satisfying than what you put in.
Have a great rest of the summer. Hope to see you around!
Jim
